Here are the lovely mugshots of every single person that you will meet and / or speak to on the phone during your moving experience with us. From initial contact to moving into your new home, all of our team are all full-time, salaried employees of M&G, and M&G only – meaning you can trust in us.
Donna has been crucial to the success of M&G. 90% of her time nowadays is spent managing client accounts and on office admin. However she can still be found managing M&G’s work diary and dealing with M&G’s customers on the front line during busy periods.
All paperwork is processed through Donna. She also operates the same administration role for our parent company MelvynJohn Ltd. She’s a busy lady!
Donna has performed home moves, and performed them well. Indeed she’s been known to work as fast, and as hard out on the vehicles as any of the removals operatives. She knows the industry inside and out. When she offers advice about moving home, it is worth listening to!
If you’re a self storage customer, you’ll definitely be liaising with Donna at some point.
M&G would not be where it is today without her input.
M&G has been trading since 1983 with Geoff on board!
Where on earth do we start. The man that has literally done it all.
Collections of furniture from the East End of London at 4am – yep. Moves to Spain and France – yep. Packing – Yep. Local Moves – yep. Managing commercial clients in storage – yep. Vehicle repairs – yep. HGV – yep. Building repairs – yep. Building storage units – yep. Forklift – yep.
The list goes on, and on, and on, and indeed further on and on. In fact, if there was a list it would appear like one of those comedy scenes where somebody holds up a sheet of paper and then lets all the sheets behind that are attached reel down towards the floor.
Nowadays you’ll find Geoff mainly on site here. Dealing with customers, making repairs, managing Tachograph records. Generally filling in gaps that exist everywhere, and without which filled everybody would suddenly realise not only is it mighty draughty because of those gaps but they’re freezing cold and shivering < This is a metaphor.
Currently I am in the role of senior surveyor, and senior operations manager I started at 14 years of age delivering mahogony furniture for ‘Sterry’s Warehouse’ on Saturday mornings (don’t google it – it pre-dated the internet!). From there I became a removal man, (which I have to say I miss terribly, and no other part of my career have I enjoyed more than actually being a removal man), then office based, then back out to effect removals through France, Spain, and Portugal, then back into the office for a time, before training to become a surveyor for the company. Aside from this I have project managed commercial (office) moves as well as effected them myself. The last 6-7 years have been spent researching and learning the entire home moving process. From the legal, to the psychological.
School always took second place to a desire to move people and after only eight weeks at Sixth Form (Politics & Business Studies) I walked out to become a removal man here at M&G. I have no idea what it is about this trade but it actually, truly not only ‘gets under your skin’ but seems to become part of your DNA. I must have somewhere in the region of 25>30,000 customers behind me now (as at 2016), and still, every single day I get a buzz out of meeting new people, solving fresh challenges and learning ever more about what those of us in the know, in this trade refer to as ‘the art of moving’.
Twenty five ish years later, and with tens of thousands of moves behind me, with all aspects of our trade experienced, I now have the utter privilege of being a very senior member of staff here, which, given that I’m just as likely to pick up the broom or clean a toilet as much as anyone else is a title that I do not dwell on. We are a team here, nay a family.
And I truly attempt to look after every customer in such fashion that you too, will, albeit for a short time truly believe you are part of this family that I am a member of, and we will look after you as such.
I’m also the ‘matt’ that has the blog page on this site.
I hold a full Certificate of Professional Competance in National Road Haulage, a full Certificate of Professional Competence in International Road Haulage. I am currently appointed to the HBSG (House Buying and Selling Group), currently consulting to Government to improve this bloody awful process. I have served as a board member and Director of the British Association of Removers, (2010>2013) voted into the position by the membership, and I also hold membership of HPC (which is something you won’t have heard of, but is darn hard to get into). I have appeared as an expert witness in court on more than one occasion (Home Moving Expert) and also been asked to join the board of AIM (Declined due to time) Oh, and I hold a Directorship at M&G too.
I also, aside from my work at M&G also work as a car control and racecraft instructor with Go Racing Motorsport and Applied Autosport. Moreover, as you may have guessed from my photo I also pilot the race car, and indeed took the 2018 Endurance Title with five wins out of seven for the Faucough&Dye Motorsport Team, sponsored by M&G and also Applied Autosport
See link to the M&G racing page for further details . Or search on Facebook for Faucough&Dye.

I have been at M&G now for over 8 years.
I’ve had a fair few jobs in my past but none as interesting and fun as my job here as a driver/removal man. I get to see some amazing homes and meet some very interesting people on a daily basis.
I have made some good friends here at M&G and I believe that is what makes us such a great team.
To me there is more to being a removal man than just “Humping and Dumping” – it takes skill, precision and at times a lot of patience.
I take pride in my work and get great satisfaction from my customers being happy, stress free and maybe even a little impressed by the way their move has been carried out, and if they appreciate my sense of humour it’s a bonus!
I started with M&G fresh from school and, since the seven years or so I have worked here, I haven’t looked back.
In a different area everyday, a different house with a different customer moving various pieces of furniture.
I am now looking to do my driving test with the help and support of the boss. Since I have worked here my skill levels in all aspects of life have changed for the better.
I have matured and taken a big step into what could be a lifetime career. Travelling all over the country to carry out moves for some very nice people I have seen some extraordinary places and houses which, if I wasn’t with M&G, I wouldn’t have seen.
note from the gaffer, Jan 2014 – Anthony is being very lazy about learning to drive…..despite this company offering to fund his lessons….if he is on your move you have our permission to tell him off.
My name is Mark and I am 52 years old. I have been married for 30 years and have a lovely wife and two sons.
I worked for Birmingham City Council as a carpenter then a manager for 23 years. I then worked for myself until I joined M&G Transport in 2005.
I have been here for 10 years and have enjoyed moving people to Spain, Italy, Portugal and France.
I enjoy the challenges each day brings and meeting new people keeps the job very enjoyable.
I like growing my own vegetables, eating out and watching football, and coming to work.
Everyone at M&G has been here for many years, and it’s not normally nice as the new starter, but they made me feel so welcome and now, years on, I am part of the family.
It is a physically demanding job which does take some getting used to but it’s doing wonders for my waistline! My colleagues are commenting on how I’m changing – both working with them and in the actual job and I’m really starting to feel a lot more confident in all areas.
I hope to be with M&G for a long time to come.
